Route Management

A route is defined as a connection between two airports. A route may also include a stopover (technical stop) known as VIA flight. Route management page consists of two parts - header and a information area. Use the up and down arrows to scroll between branches. By default, the departure branch will be the airport you started your business in. Destination, on the other hand, may include, depending on game settings, all branches or just the branches to which your airline performs flights to. By clicking the + icon, you will be able to insert a VIA flight and see their performance. A rightmost button reverses the direction of the monitored route.

Below the route selection, some information is displayed. Green and Red dots address possible traffic rights for passenger and freight transport. Similarly, the distance between destinations is displayed.

Route

Functions

Route section contains three tabs - Overview, Loads and Market shares

Overview

If there's no route between the two branches selected, you can create one. Route is also created when a new flight number is created between those two destinations.

If the route exists, you will see three tables. First one shows flights (with flight numbers, departure times, frequencies, aircrafts and prices) who serve this route. Second table shows scheduled flights, including booking information (paxload) and status. A route map is also displayed on the right. If you were to click "details" you would see all the information regarding the flight including, but not limited to financial information.

In the third table you can see all the scheduled flights (including competitor) their paxload (to a limited extent), price. "Details" page shows information regarding the aircraft and classes offered.

Loads

In Loads page you will see a graphic overview of the capacity offered, capacity booked and the price. Selection box allows to choose between economy, business, first and freight classes. Numerical values can be read when you move your mouse cursor over the column.

Market Shares

Market Share section shows, quite simply, the market share of passenger and cargo transport you and competing airlines control. Numerical values and a weekly change (%) can be read in a table. Depending on the number of companies and their shares, they are shown in a pie chart. Above the chart, week numbers are shown. Clicking on them will show that weeks data.

Route Settings

Below each of these three areas are route settings. On the left side you can set prices. This can be done either by dragging the slider or entering the value in the box.

In the right additional settings are stored. These are: flight number groups, service profile and contracts for passenger and cargo handling handling (if available).

More routes / Delete route

Below the route settings, existing routes to/from the airport will be shown in order to allow a faster selection of the routes. It is also possible to delete route if there are no more flights scheduled or booked.

Flight Number Management

Flight numbers can be sorted into groups. In Release 1.3 groups for flight numbers were automatically created. Nowadays these groups can be defined as the user pleases.

Ticket Prices

Ticket Prices

Here you can easily change ticket prices to your routes. You can add or subtract a percentage of the standard or current price. Restrictions to price changes can be made by departure and arrival destinations and the class. Please keep in mind, that your price has to be between 50% and 200% of the default price.
