History

Air Munich was founded on August 3, 2009. We began Operations with a leased Fokker 100 and a Boeing 737-700 two days later. Temporarily two ATR 72s were used but were returned to the leasing company as they proved to be too small. On August 26, 2009 Air Munich ordered a brand new Boeing 737-800. Since the several new B737-Next Generation aircraft followed.

On October 11, 2009 two new Embraer 195 were ordered from the manufacturer.

In November 2009 3 Boeing 737-200ADV with Hushikts have temporarily been put into service to allow a quick expansion at our Homebase. By now they are all replaced by new aircraft. The whole flightplan of Air Munich was optimized for better connections between the flights.

In December 2009 the first Bombardier CRJ 900 joined the fleet.

On March 13 2010 Air Munich moved into a new 5 Star Terminal at their homebase Munich. Almost one third of Air Munichs flights out of MUC are now handled in the new terminal featuring jetways, luxury shops, restaurants and a lounge for all our guests.

April 2010 - Expansions goes on and 18 new Bombardier DHC 8-Q400 joined the fleet. April 13th Air Munich successfully went public. It can now be traded at Frankfurt Stock Exchange. And finally Air Munich became member of World Alliance.

May 2010 - 16 new B737-800 joined our fleet and our 3rd Hub was opened in Stuttgart.

June 2010 - Air Munich goes long haul: with two Airbus A330-200 out of Berlin International. The first two destinations are Chicago and Las Vegas. In the End of June our Stuttgart hub was closed and reopened at CGN.

August 2010 - Air Munich celebrates its first birthday with a retro livery.
