Aero Moscow is an international airline based at the Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. The aim is to build up a national and international network which connects Europe and Asia with Russia. To do so we set up a hub system which ensures minimal transfer time. The main hubs for the company are the homebase at the Vnukovo Airport as well as Novosibirsk in the est of Russia.

Strategy

Twin-hub-strategy

Aero Moscow is trying to set up two hubs in Russia. Our main goal is to ensure the shortest transfer time possible this was the main reason why the airline choose the smallest of the big three in Moscow as its homebase. The second hub in Novosibirsk was chosen because it is close to a big market; China and Asia. We split the operations logically. From Moscow we serve Europe and from Novosibirsk we connect our system to Asia. Both airports are contact points for our national network.

  • Hub-system

At Vnukovo we are setting up three departure times where our aircrafts leave the airport together. The same procedure is being built up in Novosibirsk. With bunching our departures we are able to ensure a minimal transfer time for the national and international passengers. With this bundled timetable we achieve a maximum of comfort for our passengers and it gives us a competitive edge over our opponents in Russia.

The new terminal

Your flight with Aero Moscow starts right at the check-in desk where you are welcomed by one of our (only good looking) check-in agents. They will be happy to assist you with check-in procedures and answer any questions you might have. Due to the fact that we are the only carrier based at the Vnukovo airport, our passengers can feel our corporate philosophy at the entire airport. We want to make your flight unforgettable. For that reason we sent our whole staff (including the management) to a special boot camp were they were taught teamwork, obligingness and charming behavior. You have never seen such exercised employees before outside of china. We think that with this philosophy, with this staff and with our commitment to make your journey as comfortable as possible we stand out from all normal airlines in Russia.

The new terminal

To ensure a steady growth of the airport and our airline a new state-of-the-art terminal will be ready fore use soon. This will open up a plethora of opportunities for our airline to expand and radically improve the high quality of our customer service at the airport and ensure international-quality service and higher comfort overall.

Fleet/Liverys

Aero Moscow uses modern aircrafts which are approved in all atmospheric conditions to ensure a secure flight. We are trying to stick to just few aircraft categories in order to keep our maintenance costs as low as possible.

Short- and medium-haul

One of the replaced B737-200

The Boeing 737 Models are used for domestic flights as well as for international flights. Aero Moscow uses the B737 Aircrafts since they are known all over the world, so the maintenance can be accomplished at all destinations. The commonality of all B737 allows to upgrade the aircrafts very easily when necessary. At the start the whole Boeing fleet will be based at the main hub in Moscow. After a constant growth further acquisitions for the second hub in Novosibirsk might be made.

On the 6th of December 2009 Aero Moscow made the biggest change to its fleet. Seven 737-700 were leased to replace the old 737-200 models that built the backbone of the fleet since the start of the airline. With the newly leased aircrafts the airline wants to offer their passengers a even better service and agreeable flight.

The first E-Jet

The Embraer E-Jets joined the fleet some weeks before it was planed. Due new competitors at Moscow Vnukovo the company was forced to do this step. The E-Jets mainly serve small domestic airports and some destinations in post-Soviet states. The E-Jets should serve regional Destinations. The main reason for the choice of the Embraer Jets was that they are very robust and well tested in hard atmospheric conditions. With the E-Jet family the gap to smaller planes gets smaller and the connections to regional airports can be better served than with our B737 A/Cs.

About 2/3 of the Embraer planes will be based at the hub in Moscow the other third is going to be based at Novosibirsk.

Interlining-partner

Aero Moscow has a very strict interlining philosophy. The airline only negotiates with airlines which doesn't have any interlining with any other Russian airline. The main reason for this is to ensure the best collaboration between the airlines and to avoid bad interlining partners.
