Except for the launch of Croydon it has been rather quiet around here over the last couple of weeks. So lets break the silence! We’ve been working hard on one of AirlineSim 1.5’s biggest new features: The flight planning system! It will completely change the way you do your scheduling in AirlineSim. We have also integrated the first parts of our new design which will be introduced alongside the new milestone. Since a picture says more than a thousand words, find a video of the new feature after the break. Oh, and the guy talking with the funny German accent would be Martin…
First glimpse at AirlineSim 1.5 (flight planning system) from AirlineSim on Vimeo.
I recommend you to watch the video directly on Vimeo or to download the file from there in order to get a bigger view size.

Looks really good! This will make scheduling much easier.
Pet peeve: for long flights, is it possible with this new system to have a schedule flown by 1 aircraft one week and another one the next week? This would make it possible to do (for instance) SIN-LHR daily flights with just 2 planes, just like in real life. Now you still need 3 (1 for days 135, one for days 246 and a third one if you want to fly on day 7 as well).
Nope, I’m afraid that won’t be possible.
it looks pretty nice. good work…
but just a short question. is it possible to build up a kind of a drag&drop function in this new system? this means to simply take a certain flight directly in the schedule and switch it around with your mouse…
@potter: I thought a lot about trying to build something like a drag&drop interface. But given the time constraints (after all, I’m working on AirlineSim by myself) I decided to stay with a more conventional solution and a technology I’m familiar with.
